Ready? Start! is an independant Videogame + Art event, hosted annually in Melbourne by a small group of dedicated creatives (and gamers!)
Ready? Start! began in 2025 as a University Project, aimed at diversifiying gaming third spaces and opening up e-sports scenes to be more accessible for everyone. Now, Ready? Start! is contuining to grow into a bigger & better community focused gaming event, with a focus on gaming related art vendors, activities & interactables, indie developers, speed-running as well as FGC tournies!
Videogame fandoms are almost always meeting on the digital,
Ready? Start! aims to help build community around games in a way that is accessible and enjoyable by everyone - not just those who are competitive players. Here at Ready? Start! we have a moral aim to uplift and support the voices of queer & feminine people in our wonderful Melbourne gaming community.

Meet the Mascots!
Connie & Floppy!
Connie is our lead Mascot, a console girl! She's a collector of games & art alike, and she loves to play, archive & spread the love of retro games to everyone!
Floppy is Connie's best friend, a little Floppydisk Angel! He loves to play in tournaments, online & with friends!
Together, Connie & Floppy represent all the best bits of the gaming community!
